All prospective students seeking admission to Stride University must complete the official application form. The application must be submitted with a non-refundable registration fee of $500.00, payable by check, money order, or credit card. Please ensure the payment is made to Stride University.

Applicants are required to submit all necessary documentation to be considered for admission. Once the application is reviewed, candidates will receive an official decision via email, followed by additional instructions. Admissions representatives will remain in regular contact with candidates to ensure all documentation is submitted promptly.

Admission Requirements

General Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid government-issued photo identification is required.
  • An up-to-date resume must be submitted.
  • Any documents not in English must include certified translations.

Registration

Students may register for courses via email or in person during the designated registration period listed in the university’s academic calendar.

Applicants accepted to Stride University who do not begin classes will have their application and fee remain valid for up to one (1) year from their original term of acceptance. After one year, applicants must reapply and submit a new application and registration fee.

Orientation

All newly admitted students, including those rejoining after a term or more of absence, must attend a mandatory orientation session. The orientation introduces students to university policies, procedures, and academic expectations. Students are also required to complete an e-library orientation within their first term.

To successfully graduate from Stride University and receive a degree, students must:

  • Complete all program-specific credit requirements listed in the catalog.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Satisfy all academic progress standards.
  • Resolve all financial obligations to the university.

Definition of a Unit of Credit

Stride University follows the Carnegie unit system to define academic credit. Under this standard, one credit hour is equivalent to 15 hours of theoretical instruction. Accordingly, each 3-credit course at Stride University includes 45 hours of instruction. In addition, students are expected to engage in independent study, complete assignments, conduct research, and participate in related academic activities outside of class.

Course Withdrawal Policy

To withdraw from a course, students must notify the Registrar’s Office either in writing or verbally. The Registrar will document the withdrawal date and reason.

  • Withdrawals with Refund: If a withdrawal request is made during the drop/add period, the course fee will be refunded as per the university’s Cancellation and Refund Policy.
  • Withdrawals without Refund: Withdrawals made after the refund deadline may affect academic progress and will not be eligible for a refund.

Withdrawal Policy

  • Students may withdraw from a class and receive a grade of 'W' until the day before the final exam.
  • Poor academic performance is not accepted as a valid reason for withdrawal after this deadline.
  • Medical withdrawals require submission of supporting documentation via the official Withdrawal Form available on the Stride University website.If approved, an 'I' (Incomplete) grade will be assigned.
  • Students withdrawing for medical reasons may be placed on temporary academic hold until they are ready to return.
  • If medical withdrawal is denied but deemed justified, a late withdrawal may be granted with a 'W' grade recorded.
  • If a student withdraws while under investigation for academic dishonesty and is found responsible, Stride University reserves the right to assign a grade other than 'W' in consultation with faculty and relevant committees.

Make-Up Work Policy & Repeating Courses

Students who are unable to complete coursework by the end of the term may be granted an "I" (Incomplete), with the instructor's approval. Make-up work must be arranged within three (3) days of the course’s conclusion. Without administrative approval, failure to meet this deadline results in a failing grade.

Transfer of Credits

  • Transfer applicants must meet Stride University’s admission criteria.
  • Up to 18 transfer credits may be accepted if they match course content and objectives.
  • A minimum grade of 'B' is required for all transferable credits.
  • Stride University does not accept credit for work experience or standardized examinations.
  • Credit transfer from Stride University to another institution is subject to the receiving institution’s discretion.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Stride University complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which limits the release of confidential student records. Students have the right to access their academic records and are protected from unauthorized disclosure. Written consent is required for release of records, except in cases of legally subpoenaed requests. All transcript and academic information requests must be submitted in writing; third-party or telephone requests will not be honored.
